No, not that squid.

This squid:

As a long-time wannabe geek, I have all too often been frustrated by a power strip with five or six sockets that only afforded access to three or four transformers.

I was, consequently, a happier DrGuy once I discovered the Y-splitter Liberator,

which plugged into those power strips or directly into a wall socket and both transformed one socket into two and also made room for those bulky transformers.

I later found the Power Squid (the yellow appliance pictured below and near the top of this post), which is, one suspects, the product of a couple of Y-Splitters and too many fertility medications.
