Urban Skills: We Control The Vertical

I am posting this only because I know that neither of the readers of this blog would abuse shared knowledge to the detriment of others and, in any case, I disavow any responsibility for whatever anyone does with such information (hey, that seems to work for gun manufacturers).
Anyway, some elevators have an undocumented feature that is useful if you are in a hurry need to beat the rush at the end of the workday want to show off are rushing to save a baby left on another floor that is on fire.
On many elevators, simultaneously pressing the “Door Close” and “Floor” buttons turns on an Express mode that sends the car to the floor you punch without stopping at other floors.
According to various blogs, this seems to work on most elevators, specifically including Otis Elevators (except those made in 1992), Dover Elevators (Model Numbers: EL546 And ELOD862), and most Desert Elevators (except Model Numbers ELD5433 And ELF3655). On some elevators, the management may have turned off this option, and other elevators require a key to effect this feature.
Oh, you might want to assess the size and mood of others in the elevator before trying this out.
