Do you have an empty space on the wall over your sofa where you proudly displayed that Star Trek, The Next Generation poster in the tragically mistaken belief that its value as a collectible would increase geometrically, rendering it unnecessary for you to work for a living, until your life partner, in a frenzy of tastefulness, ripped it from its thumbtacks? Do you wish you could make or, better yet, fake a recognizable work of art – without the hassles of learning technique, the anguish of creativity, or the wasting more than 12 minutes on the project?

If that’s the case, this is your lucky day.

Otherwise, you’re on your own.

It turns out that I have one more little fire to put out to get my security deposit refunded at the old heckofaguy web site.

So, I have put aside writing the erudite essay I had planned for this space, connecting the evolution and synthesis of nationalistic operatic styles that led to 19th century French Grand Opera with von Graefe’s development of the glaucoma iridectomy in the latter half of that century, a union that, as we now know, finally culminated in the epitome of the combined arts, The Glaucoma Hymn.

Instead, I will attend to finding a solution to the web site problem (i.e., I’ll nag Shane until he fixes it) while you enjoy an Arts & Crafts Day, amusing yourselves by painting like Jackson Pollock.

I suspect most of you know the two facts I know about JP:

  1. He was a hot shot in the Abstract Expressionism movement
  2. He created art that is famous, important, and sells for beaucoup bucks by dripping paint on canvases

Now, you can do the same thing (the dripping paint thing, not the hot shot in a movement thing), without even making a mess with the paint.

You’ll find your canvas at Jackson Pollock Painting

Your cursor is your brush; just click away.

Enjoy. Clean up when you’re finished.
