Somehow, a Dave Barry classic, How to Win Arguments, seems just the thing for a Friday afternoon blog offering.
How do I know it’s a classic? Well, it’s sequestered throughout the net and, in at least half of those instances, the author is listed as “anonymous” or “unknown” (a delightful alternative to giving credit or paying royalties).
And, it’s classy. Barry, for example, doesn’t hold with comparing ones opponent to Hitler. Nope, Dave’s tactic is “Compare your opponent to Mussolini,” which, as a bonus, evades invocation of Godwin’s Law
