Were it not for my serendipitous revelation regarding electron flow, this Thanksgiving tale could well have concluded with a wry report of my attempt to implement the solution universally favored by television action series – shooting off the lock with a gun. (Of course, that might have been a tad anticlimactic, given that the most powerful weapon in the house at that time wasn't produced by <em>Smith & Wesson</em> or <em>Colt</em> but was instead manufactured under the <em>Nerf</em> imprimatur.)
