Life Goes On
The Good News
Sam, my son, has improved, unevenly and agonizingly slowly, since his accident five days ago. He is more alert, more articulate, and more energetic. Of course, that’s compared to being in coma, but still, …
Sam was able to sit in a chair today. He remains confused; he cannot, for example, figure out where he is. But he is doing well enough that the plan calls for him to be transferred from the ICU to a step-down unit tonight.
My fallback position remains, There are no guarantees, but so far so good.
Life Does Go On
Be assured that my happiness about Sam’s progress is boundless; it’s just my celebration that is a tad restrained.
Take it from someone who knows, that hackneyed saying that is inevitably voiced during ones personal tragedies, Life goes on, is accurate enough.
It’s just incomplete.
The entire epigram is, or should be,
Life goes on
It’s just not the same life
Finally, I am deeply and sincerely grateful for the many good wishes and the compassion readers have offered.
Thank you.
I hope to get the Heck Of A Guy and AlignMap blogs back in business in the next day or two although the frequency of posting will no doubt be decreased and less regular.
