Prodigal Celebrates; Father Survives

Our hardy group of vacationers observed the Prodigal’s 21st birthday last night. Highlighting the celebration was a confirmed sighting and photographic evidence of the incredibly rare Prodigal full-smile.

I am remiss in not having identified this exemplar of the Sandcastle Rum Cake that commemorates the Prodigal’s birthday during our Hilton Head sojourn. (”Sandcastle” is not only associated with the beach, but the house we rent is called “Sandcastle.”) A more easily recognized photo from last year’s celebration is available near the end of the page at Random Observations From Vacation

I’m so glad that the prodigal is well enough to enjoy his Twenty first. I also hope his turning your hair grey days have peaked and that from now on his most out-there habits will be knitting and helping little old ladies across the road, oh and drinking cocoa. (You can tell I’m assuming that like my own kids, Prodigal doesn’t read your blog.)
Happy birthday Prodigal!
