Deck Items - Carved Geese, Yokes, Saws, Horseshoes - Now On-line

Photos of another group of those doodads, antiques, gadgets, widgets, junk, tchotchkes, collectibles, oddities, curios, odds, ends, and much, much more that line the walls and reside in the geological layers of miscellanea that arise from nearly every table and shelf as well as much of the floor space in my mother's home in the the Ozarks are now online.

This set of items, including the yokes pictured atop this post,1 are grouped together solely because they all are kept on the deck behind my mother's cabin, perched on a bluff overlooking Table Rock Lake in an isolated area of southwest Missouri.

The Photos

All of the Family Home Photo Safari pictures were taken by me during our Thanksgiving 2007 trip to Mom's home. The vistas on the title panels of the photo displays depict Table Rock Lake as seen from the cabin's deck during the same Thanksgiving 2007 visit.

I hope you enjoy viewing these photos as much as I enjoyed photographing my parents' collectibles and as much as my mother and father enjoyed finding and displaying them.

The photos of the deck items are available at Mom's Deck

Footnotes

_____________________
  1. Unless the viewer is proficient at finding Waldo or perceiving the image of Abraham Lincoln in what appears to be a mass of squiggles, the yokes in the photo may be difficult to see. If those three yokes aren't instantly obvious, it may be helpful to look for the first three visible roof support beams (the boards forming the roof of the deck fill the top of the photo, running at a slant from left to right; the support beams run perpendicular to those boards). The yokes hang from metal hooks screwed into those beams. The first yoke extends horizontally across the left half of the graphic but is effectively camouflaged because its color and texture almost precisely matches the cabin's logs. The second yoke, which lacks the golden hues of the first, comes into view just beyond the right end of the first yoke. The third yoke is barely visible at the right edge of the photo and is seen better in other photos.
