Give The Good Clean Wholesome Fun Tumblelog A Tumble

No, this is not the GoodCleanWholesomeFun.com staff, but these pioneers of psychoanalysis,
including William James (1st Row, 3rd from left), Sigmund Freud (1st Row, 4th from right),
and Carl Jung (3rd from right), are featured in a Good Clean Wholesome Fun post

Good Clean Wholesome Fun, now thirteen days old and 51 posts long, seems to have already evolved into a rather colorful, somewhat bombastic, but altogether lovable soft of character well suited to serve as sidekick to the Heck Of A Guy blog - although it seems less Sancho Panza to HeckOfAGuy.com’s Don Quixote or Dr Watson to HeckOfAGuy’s Sherlock Holmes than Gabby Hayes to HeckOfAGuy’s Roy Rogers.

The Latest GCWF Posts

I’ve noticed that the Good Clean Wholesome Fun posts, while fully representative of the Brownian Motion-determined shifts in my attention, nonetheless demonstrate certain connections and interrelationships that are difficult to explain as coincidence within a random distribution.

The latest batch, for example, includes a study showing four behaviors that can lengthen ones life and Leonard Cohen discussing “The inescapable lousiness of growing old” in a PBS radio interview.

A post on Leonard Cohen’s music in McCabe and Mrs.Miller, Altman’s vision of the Wild West, is adjacent to an appreciation of the musical talent of Phil Spector, who had his own Wild West moment with Leonard Cohen.

The doctor ranting about the lies his patients tell probably wouldn’t believe one of those patients who reported a urethra-invading toothpick fish.

There is a theme of unexpected numbers in this sequence: roses that are 5 feet tall, how to manage 3 monitors, and using 1 password to access multiple web sites.

A gas pump that provides Google Maps to motorists who need directions shares a corporate identify with the proposal for a threshold of Google hits required to meet criterion of “famous”

And is it coincidence or karma that the review of a new book on Freud’s founding of psychoanalysis and a discussion of the placebo effect went online at GCWF within a hour of each other?
