While DrHGuy certainly aspires to the mavericity of John McCain, who suspended his campaign to focus on the economic crisis, and even more fervently aspires to unite the Heck Of A Guy media machine in solidarity with the 4,288 blogs that have followed Mr. McCain’s lead to announce they have suspended publication, this blog is, as you, gentle reader, can attest, in full operation.
The philosophical underpinnings of this decision to blog ever onward follow:
- Those 4,288 other bloggers thought of suspending first.
- DrHGuy thought this would be one of those holidays that would be celebrated the first Monday following the actual date.
- DrHGuy is getting time and a half for blogging on a day off.
- DrHGuy is planning to take this in comp time when he really needs it.
- DrHGuy couldn’t figure out how to publish a post about suspending the blog if the blog were suspended.
Also - Heck Of A Guy Is Willing To Go On Letterman Any Time, Including During Economic Crises
DrHGuy isn’t running for President, but if he were, he would think twice about blowing off a guy who makes a nice living making jokes about those in the public eye to a few million viewers. And were DrHGuy to somehow commit that faux pas, he would eschew appearances on other TV shows unless, perhaps, he were offered a foolproof disguise.

Sigh. I was not aware that there were bloggers not blogging due to the economic crisis.
Proving my contrary nature, after almost a months effort NOT posting, I seem to have started back the day that they stopped, and that by coincidence. Or Karma. Could be Karma. Could be the miracle of nose putty. Could be a lot of things, but its not.
