Official Heck Of A Guy Announcement

Those stalwarts who carefully monitor the segments embedded in the right sidebar of the Heck Of A Guy blog know this already, but DrHGuy, in an altogether atypical fit of compassion for those viewers less dedicated to the peripheral geography of these web pages, issues this alert:

Today, 1 November 2008, from 7-8 PM London time,1 BBC Radio 2 will broadcast “The Fourth, The Fifth, The Minor Fall,” a documentary on Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.”

BBC provides some program information, but a post on the Allison Crowe blog, BBC Radio’s “Hallelujah” to Leonard Cohen Joins MOJO in Tribute – Nov. 1: Allison Crowe Shines On offers more details.2

  2. The Allison Crowe post does point out that the BBC documentary and the official release date of the MOJO issue celebrating Leonard Cohen both occur on All Saints Day yet inexplicably fails to mention DrHGuy’s natal day celebration, which also takes place on November 1st. []

I have not checked your blog in days and days, today, Hallelujah.

    Thank you.

    Happy Birthday to you!!!

    From all aboard this ship!

Aye, it’s your birthday, and I did consider including such fact in my posting, but, it’s also the birthday of Allison Crowe’s Father, Del, and, if I noted your celebration, then, I’d be remiss to not mention Del’s… and, then you can see, it becomes an wholly different sort of thing. With candles and all.

Been dealing with major web/mail server issues all week – so, I’ve not been as up-to-date with posting news as I like to be – here, from the BBC, be some of the folks heard, along with Allison, in today’s documentary broadcast, celebrating Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”, and your birthday:

Kathryn Williams, Andy Wallace, Mary Guibert, Imogen Heap, Alex Patsavas, The Bishop of Croydon, Christine Collister, and Jon Wilde.

To be fair, today is also the birthday of Lyle Lovett, who was recently featured here in Lookalikes: Lincoln and Lyle Lovett

  • Dawnie

    Thank you for reminding me!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY :-)

Thanks for letting me know about this. I listened in today…it was great…thorough analysis of Hallelujah.

Is there really going to be a USA Leonard Cohen tour next year or is it just being talked about?
