From Sharon Robinson’s tweet at about 2:30 AM Central Time:
Leonard is fine. Bad case of food poisoning but he’s fine. Tour continuing on as planned.
Video Of the Leonard Cohen Collapse In Valencia
Video of Leonard Cohen fainting on stage during the performance of “Bird On The Wire” has been posted on YouTube. After some internal debate, I’m not embedding the video here. While neither the content of the video or the YouTube description of it is sensationalized, and the event did take place in full view of an audience of 3,000, it doesn’t add much useful information.
Perhaps more to the point, this blog covers Leonard Cohen from a fan’s perspective and not as a news source. Although I don’t share the dismay a number of folks have expressed that the video is online, I see too little potential benefit, in any sense of the word, from displaying it to justify upsetting anyone.
On the other hand, it is news, and it would be disingenuous to pretend that anyone who read of the video’s existence here (or anywhere else) and wanted to see it couldn’t find it easily enough. Consequently, I’m providing the link to that YouTube video of Leonard Cohen faints in Valencia during concert, convinced that no one will, as a result, accidentally or unexpectedly view the video as could happen were it embedded here and that, in any case, readers should decide for themselves if they wish to see it.

That man is definitely loved by his band and deservedly so. I am glad to hear it was only food poisoning (not being trite) because I have been concerned about this sort of thing happening from exhaustion. He is a good man, having weathered depression and embezzlement. As much as I love him as an artist and a human, I am not so sure tour this would have been his choice had his “manager” not screwed him out of HIS money.
I would love to see her destitution show up in a Swiss Bank, and be restored to him…and for her do hard labor. Sorry, I know Leonard would not agree, but he is under a lot of stress whether or not he would admit it or not.
Get well soon Leonard!
I just found your website, I am definitely bookmarking it so I can check it out in more detail later. I posted a story on my site about Cohen today, you may enjoy reading. Thanks for liking him too, ha.
