I may be the only fan of the IBM commercial that features Ajay Bhatt, co-inventor of the USB, strolling through the office to the adulation of all, especially the female staff, pouring himself a cup of coffee, and signing an autograph or two with a marker before the catch phrase,“Your rock stars aren’t like our rock stars” appears.
I do admit that I don’t quite grasp how this 30 second mock apotheosis will compel me to buy IBM products, but I am amused by the displacement of the rock star scenario to the land of the geek.
Consequently, it’s hardly surprising that I also like the video toy (and IBM commercial, of course) based on this commercial, the results of which can be viewed in its only-a-bit-creepy splendor below.
