It was sooo nice. Yes, I drove down after work — five hours or so from Chicago to St Louis, and I’m glad I did. I’m still on the road — my internet connecti9n is from parking in front of a public library in the dark with my netbook, so I’m not blogging this yet, but he also changed the words to “Tower of song”, I unless the orignal words are “I don’t have health insurance, I was born with a golden voice.” Of course they were waiting for the other line and cheered wildly, but apparently he was following the vote in the House earlier in the day, and added those words as, what? I would imagine he has some rather formidable preexisting conditions, but he’s Canadian, right? Not sure how to interpret it…
He’s touring in a country where tens of millions of people don’t and where health care reform is a hot topic. Maybe that fact, rather than his personal circumstances, triggered an impulse to tweak the lyric.
