Heck Of A Guy Leonard Cohen Video Hits Milestone
Between 2:00 and 2:30 PM (Central) today, the Leonard Cohen at 75 Birthday Video, a Heck Of A Guy video montage of favorite scenes featuring the singer-songwriter/poet/icon published in celebration of his 75th birthday,1 garnered its 10,000th YouTube unique viewer.
While this statistic hardly renders the Leonard Cohen at 75 Birthday Video a threat to the videos of kittens, adolescents setting fire to themselves, and other attractions that garner millions of hits and or to the videos of Leonard Cohen performances that have (deservedly) registered hundreds of thousands of views, it is nonetheless gratifying as all get-out to this blogger and wannabe auteur.2
So once again, thanks are owed Allison Crowe, who allowed her cover of Joni Mitchell’s “A Case Of You” to be used in the introduction of the video and Phil Celia, who generously permitted his version of George and Ira Gershwin’s “They Can’t Take That Away From Me” to be incorporated as the primary musical theme of the video.
And once again – Happy Birthday, Leonard
