I suppose that the extravaganza of publicity attending Hellboy II made the disclosure inevitable.
In any case, I am going on record to confirm the rumors that Hellboy, his gruff exterior notwithstanding, is, under that red skin, a Heck of a Guy.
Yes, we on the more genteel side of the family had the name changed ages ago when neither “Hell” or “boy” could be comfortably used in refined company. Even “Heck” was considered daring.
The family resemblance becomes apparent on close study.
The similarities become unmistakable when the fedoras are donned.
It’s as though we are identical cousins.

Indiana Jones and Fedora Star in The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull
[
Noting my announcement of an hiatus on blogging, a generous reader who wishes to remain anonymous has proffered this post, which he describes as "composed after the school of DrHGuy." I'm appreciative albeit perplexed, as are, no doubt, Mssrs. Cohen and Ford, by the "Ex" in the legend of the graphic below. In any case, the post itself is dandy, and I am thankful for the contribution. DrHGuy]
Must Be The Season of the Hat
Indiana Jones, like Leonard Cohen, is back on stage in fine style, sporting a fedora.
In Indy’s case, the chapeau meets criteria for classification as signature headgear and is, in fact, on exhibit at the Smithsonian. (Also on exhibit at the nation’s closet is the whip Mr. Jones uses in his adventures. Pondering the potential qualities a whip might bring to Mr. Cohen’s performance, one is overwhelmed by the wonders that present themselves.)
The official Indiana Jones fedora is also, it appears, the source of significant income for various producers and retailers of hats.

As is clear from recent posts, DrHGuy is quite taken by the headgear Leonard Cohen has worn in the opening concerts of the 2008 Tour.
Pretty (Fabulous) In Pink
While scanning hats in this category, DrHGuy came upon a pink ladies’ fedora, a discovery that, of course, inevitably led to thoughts of the exquisite Fabiola.
While DrHGuy lacks the hubris to advise Fabiola on any fashion issue, let alone suggest she don millinery that would obscure even a portion of her signature beehive coiffure, he also proves unable to resist employing the fabulous one as a model for the referenced chapeau.

Alas, while the result is all that could be hoped this side of heaven, it is inconclusive as a measure of the attractiveness of the hat simply because Fabiola makes everything she wears look good.
Credit Due Department: Fabiola resides, when not modeling for the Heck of a Haberdashery, at Celebrate Your Inner Fabiola! (which is a different cyber-universe altogether than the one occupied by Mary, Fabiola’s alter ego at View From A Farmhouse Window)
