Good Clean Wholesome Fun Item #1: Spacious White Version 2
A month ago, I announced in GoodCleanWholesomeFun Has A New Look that a prolonged search for an improved theme structure had been rewarded with a dandy scheme that I had installed. And it was indeed better, but problems remained.
Now, Version 2 has been published, resolving 90% of the difficulties I had experienced. The new edition is now the format in operation at GoodCleanWholesomeFun.
The key advantage is still all that gorgeous white space that provides a quietly dramatic display for graphics such as Lord of Leisure’s photo, Lone Aspen, shown in the screenshot of GoodCleanWholesomeFun shown above. (The real thing looks even better: The Lone Aspen at GoodCleanWholesomeFun), but the changes mean that more prose-laden posts look better as well.
I must immodestly admit that GoodCleanWholesomeFun is now approaching the state of way coolness.

The new theme I’ve just installed at GoodCleanWholesomeFun is jam-packed with minimalism.
Check out the negative space, the quiet colors that sporadically break into a spasm of not quite garish brightness, and the emphasis on imagery over text (which I’m selling as an ironic commentary on my prolix, text-focused posts).

Yep, it’s perfectly positioned on the design spectrum - just beyond artsy-fartsy but lacking sufficient pretentiousness to meet criteria for pseudointellectual.

It does look pretty slick nonetheless.
The new theme, some new content, and a number of reprises of ancient Heck Of A Guy texts are awaiting viewing at GoodCleanWholesomeFun

Graphics From Recent GoodCleanWholesome Fun Posts
GoodCleanWholesome Fun Has Been Especially Graphic Lately
Some of the photos displayed recently at GoodCleanWholesome Fun are not only impressive as standalone pieces but also connect to slide shows filled with similar items. Also posted are items about Sweet Baby James, the sexiest music videos ever shown (according to Nerve.com), lying voters, economic analysis of quality art, and an especially puzzling headline from CNN’s Headline News.
As usual, the links in this list go directly to the single item described. All these entries as well as the posts that preceded them and any posts added since this list was compiled can be accessed in a single sequence at GoodCleanWholesome Fun.

GoodCleanWholesome Fun Is Back
In the process of gradually ending my month long posting hiatus on all my blogs, GoodCleanWholesome Fun was reactivated earlier this week. As usual, the links in this list go directly to the single item described. All these entries as well as the posts that preceded them and any posts added since this list was compiled can be accessed in a single sequence at GoodCleanWholesome Fun.
For those of you in Cohen mode, I especially recommend Almost everything you ever wanted to know about the real sisters of mercy and the night they spent with Leonard Cohen, one of the best features on the muses of Sisters of Mercy I’ve found. Also worthwhile are some interesting photos of the Leonard Cohen O2 Arena performance (such as the one atop this post) and a Times review of Leonard’s career, including the singer-songwriter’s take on the criticism by gunshot exercised by Maoists.
In the non-Cohen category one can find a reader’s vision of a fully tricked out walker inspired by the Heck of a Guy essay on Pimp My Assistive Device and a nostalgic look at Izzzy, widely regarded as the worst of the official Olympic mascots.
Enjoy
